Mermaid, trumpet, fit and flare, ball gown, sheath. Do you have any idea what these wedding dress styles are, or which would look best on your body? These are just a few options of dress silhouettes that are common in wedding gowns, and each style is meant for different body types. And then there are the bridesmaid dresses and groom’s & groomsmen’s suits (or tuxes) to worry about. It can be overwhelming and if you don’t have time, knowledge, or you want the process to be fun and seamless, it’s best to hire an expert – a wedding stylist. 🙂
Wedding styling is a service that I offer at CoChic Styling. The service includes styling brides and the bridal party from head-to-toe on their wedding day, and events leading up to (and after) the wedding. I help choose your wedding dress (or dresses!) , make sure you have the proper undergarments for the dress, veil or hair piece, shoes, jewelry and any other accessories for your wedding day. I can also advise you on what hair and make-up style look best with the dress selection.
I can do the same for the bridal party, too. Whether you want a mis-matched bridesmaid dress look, or a classic monochrome look, I can ensure the look will be be cohesive. Additionally, the color and style of the groom’s and groomsmen’s suits or tuxes play a role in the overall look. Unfortunately, the guys’ attire is often an afterthought, and it shouldn’t be! I always recommend choosing the bridal gown first, and styling the rest of the overall look, including the groom’s attire, around the dress. It’s also important to consider your venue and degree of formality that you’re going for. For example, If you want a black tie wedding at the Ritz Carlton, make sure your dress is formal enough.
As if you don’t have enough to think about, you also have to figure out what to wear to your engagement party, bridal showers, bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner and honeymoon! I can also help style you for these pre-wedding events where you’ll be front and center.
The takeaway is, you want to be as stress-free leading up to your big day as possible, you want everything to be perfect, and you want to look like the very best version of yourself. Hiring talented vendors to help you will accomplish just that – and more! Learn more about wedding styling services here.
