Happy Wednesday, friends! Today I’m showing an easy way to mix vintage {old} with modern {new} pieces of clothing. My inspiration for this outfit of the day post was scoring this mint condition vintage Chanel blazer at the Randolph Flea Market a couple weeks ago. Apparently there’s a lady on Lake Shore Drive who had a closet full of Chanel that she needed to get rid of. Yes, please! {Insert girl with her hand up emoji here.}
Even though the cut of this jacket is timeless, it’s vintage nonetheless, and I don’t want it to look too dated. So I opted for a soft white button down shirt tucked into black high waisted skinny jeans. The button down shirt is pretty timeless, as well, but I added the modern high waisted skinny jeans and heeled booties with a subtle snakeskin pattern in the leather, to contrast the classic vibe of the jacket. {Slight digression: I say modern because these styles are on trend. However, they are actually styles brought back into style from the 70’s.} I topped it off with a statement necklace to complete the look and make the blazer/button down combo less business-like. What do you think? A little sassier than your grandma’s 2-piece Chanel suit. 😉
These photos were taken at Comfort Me Boutique in Hyde Park, which is my family’s store. Look how cool the interior is! Go check it out if you haven’t been there; you won’t be disappointed.
